Romanoz x Askance in Transcendentalism
Transcendentalism is a philosophical movement that emphasizes the importance of individualism, intuition, and the spiritual experience of nature. While it originated in the early 19th century, its principles continue to influence artists and creatives today. In this post, we'll explore why transcendentalism in art is important, and how it can help us connect with our inner selves and the world around us.

First and foremost, transcendentalism encourages artists to trust their instincts and explore their own unique perspectives. This emphasis on individualism allows for a diverse range of artistic expressions that reflect the richness and complexity of the human experience. By rejecting conventional modes of thought and embracing the unknown, transcendental artists are able to push the boundaries of what is possible in art and inspire others to do the same.

One of the main artists in this field is Romanoz.
For more than 25 years, the works of Romanoz, the Georgian artist, the founder of Transcendental painting, went beyond the well-established boundaries. For this year he has been creating a series of paintings: X0–Z; TRANSFORMATION OF TIME; BIRD OF SUCCESS; PARALLEL REALITY, KEEPER OF THE MOON and etc.
Romanoz's paintings are among the collections of world-famous persons such as David Lynch, Bjork and others.
There have been held more than 20 personal exhibitions of Romanoz in Georgia and outside the country.

"The Bird of Success is a transcendent character that symbolizes success and achievement. Its bright red body without wings has an elongated shape, reminiscent of swiftness and forward movement. The Bird of Success has become a symbol of the endless possibilities of the human mind and creativity.
The paintings depicting the Bird of Success are part of a series of transcendental art created by the founder of the project. Each piece in this series is designed to inspire you to achieve your goals and dreams." – Romanoz
Bird of Success by Romanoz
All this verbose introduction was to point out that the task of recreating a three-dimensional Bird of Success was rather atypical. The artist's brother Romanoz as a sculptor created a three-dimensional model of the bird, but it was in black and white. That is to say, it was completely impossible to see which areas should be more textured than others.
2D projection of the Bird
While working over time, it became clear that getting texture in a 3D meshed image is not as easy as in a 2D image.
Shortly after sculpting, the process of building the lighting began laboriously.

Scene setup
Anatomy of the Bird
Each rib and hollow had to be made by hand, and then the position and power of the light sources had to be lined up to highlight the ribs and bumps.
In order to incarnate the bird, we worked with the artist live. As a result of the productive work, the bird adorns a section on the artist's website itself.

STAGE II: Creation of NFT
The second step was to create an NFT for the artist. His other work, X0-S, literally travelled to the stratosphere and climbed 43 kilometres. Consequently, it was decided to create 43 NFTs. But you always have to start with the first one.
First draft of the NFT
The first thing that came up was a concept. The artist really wanted to use a sphere, a symbolic representation of the planet. Then the new main task was to create a new animation of the bird. The artist wanted to see it hovering and for every bone in its body to wiggle slightly. Which, as it turned out next, turned out to be a very difficult and painstaking task. I tried FK and IK techniques to create the desired result, but I still faced the limitations of these techniques.
The Rig setup
That's why I spotted an unusual technique. Fix the movement of the bones behind the plane with Stretch to and Copy rotation + Lock Rotation. And then set the motion of the plane along the curve with the Curve modifier. It turned out very organically!
Render of the final result
I had a chat with a representative of the Swiss company 4art, which is an NFT marketplace. They answered my questions about the technical requirements and we will upload the work there very soon!
